Glaucoma is the world's leading cause of irreversible blindness - and it often goes undetected until it's too late.
An estimated 76 million people had glaucoma in 2020, a number projected to reach 111.8 million by 2040 (Tham et al., Ophthalmology, 2014). In the United States, about 3 million people have glaucoma, a number projected to reach 6.3 million by 2050, and about half do not know they have it (CDC).
